Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026.
This policy explains what teamdatafam.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
teamdatafam.com is run by Team DataFam, based in Australia. Contact: team.datafam@gmail.com.
What we collect
We do not ask you for anything. There is no login, no newsletter, and no contact form. Everything below is collected automatically by the site or by third parties embedded in it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Site Kit) to understand which talks people read and how they arrive. It sets cookies and records your approximate location, device and browser, the pages you view, and how you got here. It does not tell us who you are.
Advertising
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and may serve personalised ads.
You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
Embedded video
Talk pages embed the original recording from YouTube, and show YouTube thumbnails. YouTube may set cookies and receive your IP address when a page loads, whether or not you press play. That data is handled under Google’s privacy policy, not ours.
Fonts
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Comments
If you leave a comment, we store the comment, the name and email address you type, your IP address and browser string, for spam prevention. Comments and their metadata may be checked by an automated spam service.
Server logs
Our host keeps standard access logs — IP address, page requested, time, browser — for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies, and how to switch them off
The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, Google AdSense and YouTube. None of them are needed for the site to work: you can block all of them and every transcript still reads normally.
Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking third-party cookies is enough to stop the advertising and analytics ones.
Transcripts, names and recordings
This is the part specific to what we do, and it matters more here than the cookie section.
This site publishes transcripts of Tableau User Group meetings that were recorded and published by their organisers. Those transcripts contain people’s names and the words they said, and speakers have pages listing their talks.
- Everything published here comes from a recording that is already public.
- Speakers are named only where the recording itself identifies them. We do not guess, and we do not add biographical detail from elsewhere.
- If you appear here and would rather not, tell us and the page comes down. No reason required, and no argument.
- If something is wrong — a name, an employer, a sentence attributed to the wrong person — tell us and it will be corrected.
Email team.datafam@gmail.com for any of the above.
Who your data goes to
We do not sell anything or share anything with anyone for marketing. The third parties that receive data automatically are:
- Google — Analytics, AdSense, Fonts and YouTube (privacy policy)
- Our web host — server logs, as above
How long we keep it
Analytics data is retained on Google’s default schedule. Comments are kept until you ask us to remove them. Server logs are rotated by our host on their own schedule.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — the UK, EU, California and Australia all have their own rules — you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Ask us and we will do it. For data held by Google, use Google’s own tools, since we cannot reach into their systems on your behalf.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
